Open call for companies 2019 – Murcia Region

  • inDemand is looking for European companies to solve 4 challenges identified by healthcare professionals from Servicio Murciano de Salud (Murcia regional healthcare provider).

Deadline: 23rd April 2019 [CLOSED]

If awarded, you will:

  • Co-develop and validate the solution within the SMS and its healthcare professionals.  
  • Receive funding up to 40,000 €.
  • Business support to improve commercial and financial traction delivered by Ticbiomed.
  • Intellectual Property is yours.
  • A first commercial reference to sell the solution elsewhere after the pilot.

Competitive call at a glance:

    • The funding organisation, Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia (INFO), has launched a competitive call to select one IT company for each challenge.
    • Economic support: The maximum grant for this first call is 60% of the eligible costs, with a maximum of 40,000 € per beneficiary. Eligible costs are:
      • Direct costs:
        1.1 Personnel costs
        1.2 External Intellectual Services (up to 25% of the total costs claimed)
        Indirect costs:
        2.1. overheads and other operating expenses, Flat rate of 25% of the total personnel costs


    • Application deadline: 23rd April 2019
    • Who can apply? Any Small and Medium Enterprise (consortiums not allowed) headquartered in the European Union. Besides, the following countries can also apply: Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey, Israel, Moldova, Switzerland, Faroe Islands, Ukraine, Tunisia, Georgia and Armenia.
    • Language: Application forms can only be filled in English. Working language during the co-creation will be Spanish.
    • Evaluation criteria: Excellence, fit with the inDemand challenge, potential impact, work-plan viability, team experience and business sustainability.


What are the challenges to tackle in Murcia Region?

↓Challenge 1: DEEP DIVER (Assistance in the search for diagnoses with suspicion of Professional Illness)

Extend the alerts to detect suspicions of Professional Disease by taking advantage of all the information in the clinical history of Primary Care and hospital, as well as the free text of the clinical records, developing an algorithm with a success rate that allows them to be automated.

Challenge 2: GRAVIDITY (Digital card for monitoring pregnancy and puerperium of the Murcia Health Service -SMS-)

Improve with a digital solution the accessibility and monitoring of pregnancy and puerperium up to 6 months for the pregnant woman, empowering her in the self-management of her process, as well as for the professionals involved in her care.

Challenge 3: HECRO (Support for the diagnosis and treatment of chronic wounds)

To improve a digital solution which permits the standardizing of diagnosis and the treatment of chronic wounds with a safe and reliable method, supporting the health professional through the recognition of images and facilitating the most adequate treatment according to the available clinical evidence, overcoming possible deficits in training and lack of time of the professionals.

Challenge 4: DIGITAL ACTIVA (Tool to help the management and monitoring of physical exercise prescribed for health)

Improve accessibility, monitoring and adherence to the prescription of physical exercise in patients within the Activa-Murcia programme with a digital solution, facilitating patient empowerment as well as the control and change of workflow between entities.

This call is launched in the framework of the EU project inDemand. There are a number of official documents to be considered and it’s important for you to read all of them carefully before applying.

Find below a brief description of what you will find in each document. Note there are 5 links to documents to be downloaded.


Guide for applicants contains the basic information needed to guide you in preparing a proposal for the first inDemand Open Call and becoming a Sub-Grantee of the inDemand Project. It gives instruction on how to structure your proposal, how to submit it, and the criteria on which it will be evaluated as well as the way the selected projects will be managed.


The Application Form describes the information requested to SMEs from the beneficiaries of the inDemand Open Call, against which, they will be evaluated and selected.  


The Declaration of Honour is the declaration made by the company as a statement on oath  


The Sub Grant Agreement model contains the basic information for the contract signature to provision of financial resources from inDemand to a third party (the SME). It must be signed by the SME to receive the grant. The funds received by the Sub-Grantee are owned by the European Commission. The Contractor is merely the holder and manager of the funds.
